The Homeless Service Work Certificate program offered at Santa Monica College is the first of its kind, preparing students for careers working with individuals experiencing homelessness. CBSLA highlighted the innovative program and interviewed Celina, Executive Director of Housing Works and an adjunct professor, who spoke about the importance of establishing this program and how it strengthens the field by equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively support individuals experiencing homelessness.
The segment also featured Housing Works staff member Romina, a graduate of the curriculum, who shared her experience completing the program and applying what she learned in her work.

Housing Works Frontline Staff showed up at the LA County Board of Supervisors meeting and spoke during public comment on The Measure A Spending Plan.
We urged the Board to preserve the programs to prevent homelessness uphold Measure Aโs Commitments and fix the Homeless revenue gap as part of a budget strategy.
